The "TousAntiCovid" application has replaced the "StopCovid" application, a contact tracing tool used in the fight against the coronavirus. This new application uses the same protocol as the old one, and is based on a voluntary approach to tracking contact cases via Bluetooth, without geolocation of users. It also offers new functionalities, in particular by disseminating information on the circulation of the virus, test sites and a link to the exemption travel certificate to be completed by all persons during this period of confinement.
As a reminder, the CNIL had issued two opinions on "StopCovid" in April and May 2020. However, there was no need to refer the matter to the CNIL for the roll-out of "TousAntiCovid", as the processing of personal data had not undergone any substantial change.
The CNIL nevertheless specifies that it " remains mobilised to ensure that the privacy of the application's users is respected. "By the end of the year, it will publish a new opinion on the conditions for implementing processing operations linked to the epidemic.
